Tohoku University Technology: CO2 Adsorbent and Reaction Promoter: T22-004

It can be used for reactions with amines while adsorbing carbon dioxide!

To utilize low-concentration CO₂ in the atmosphere or in exhaust gases for the production of useful chemicals, it was necessary to compress and purify CO₂. The methods available had significant costs and energy consumption, presenting a major barrier for chemical manufacturers and others to actively utilize them. This invention focuses on the discovery that porous titanium zirconium oxide can adsorb CO₂ at room temperature and low pressure, and can be used as a CO₂ source in chemical reactions while still adsorbing it, leading to the invention of metal oxides and their applications.
